I attended FCCJ in Jacksonville, Florida. I started my career in Home Healthcare where I eventually grew towards custom seating and mobility for adults with disabilities. I met a young lady named Linda at an annual convention for providers of medical equipment and home-care facilities. I was offered a job in her hometown of Orlando, Florida which I accepted. We became husband and wife in 1995 with a celebration that included family and friends.
Continuing my 12-year career, I received my ATS, (Assistive Technology Supplier) credentials from RESNA, (Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America) where I specialized in pediatric custom seating and mobility. I provided conventional and custom molded seating systems for children with severe deformities. I also used technology to provide powered mobility allowing independence for some children.
I left home-care and started a new career in the Public Safety. I have been with ETR in Sanford, Florida for 15 years where I was the General Manager. I assisted in the everyday operations of a large company that provided service, collision, parts, remounts, and new vehicles for Fire Rescue, EMS, and Law Enforcement. I would start with Cad drawings and build sheets of these vehicles, and follow through to the very end, when they were inspected and delivered to the customer. I left the General Managers position for a new adventure with ETR known as PARAFLEX Mobility System. We currently build Paratransit / Non-Emergency Medical Transport vehicles in Sanford, Florida.
